Luxury shopping is a funny thing.
People who are well-versed in shopping designer will often say that investing in classic pieces is the way to go. I think that’s a fabulous plan, and one that I would love to implement one day. But for now, as a recent graduate, I can’t exactly afford to put a down-payment on a designer piece. I also don’t have the time (or the luck!) to scour thrift stores for luxury finds, and I’m sure many of you can relate!
So, how can we get in on the fun without having to pay the hefty price tag?
We rent!
I’ve partnered up with Beyond the Runway to share some Luxe Looks for Less – because really, you’re paying a lot less for a lot of luxe.
It’s the perfect plan. For one thing, you get to add gorgeous luxury pieces to your wardrobe, and for another, you don’t have to worry about buyer’s remorse. You have access to an entire designer wardrobe with pieces for any occasion you can think of. When you’re done with one piece, you can swap it out for another! My heart is beating faster just thinking about it.
With the holiday season coming up, even though most of us will be likely staying at home, it still feels more familiar to get dressed up in fancier clothing, and why shouldn’t we? It’s been a crazy enough year already, and we deserve to treat ourselves a little bit!
So, here’s how it works:
When you sign up for a silver or gold plan, you already get 40% off as a new member. By using my code TPAZ4VKR, you get an additional 10% off – that’s basically 50% off your first month of designer rentals!
With the silver plan, that means you’re paying 53$ for your first month, where you can rent up to 4 items at a time, twice a month (that’s 8 designer pieces!) With the gold plan, you pay 80$ for your first month, and can rent 4 items at a time with unlimited swaps per month (yup, unlimited swaps from your online designer closet).
Beyond the Runway has so many fantastic options for dresses, casual wear, and business suiting – not to mention their stunning handbag collection. With brands from Cinq a Sept to Balenciaga to Gucci to Chloe, and so much more, there is no reason not to give it a try. I picked out four pieces that I am completely in love with – one of which I’ve always wanted to own, even just for a couple of days. To keep things on the more luxurious and put-together side, I picked out two dresses, one adorable two-piece set, and one gorgeous handbag.
Vicky and Lucas – A-Line Button-Down Dress
This first piece is in a line button-down dress from Vicky and Lucas. I am utterly obsessed with it. It gives me Blair Waldorf meets light academia and just the perfect amount of femininity. The pleating and lace details are to die for.

I styled this dress with some knee-high croc-print boots for a more city-inspired street style outfit. I think the girliness of the dress perfectly offsets the edgier style of the knee-high boots. I think this dress is perfect for a family gathering or a birthday party where you want to be chic and on-trend but also channel a softer, more feminine side.
Alice and Olivia – Slip Dress
This next dress is a midi length slip dress from Alice and Olivia. When I saw this one, I immediately thought of date night, complete with wine, oysters, and heels. Of course, with COVID, that won’t be happening, so why not do the next best thing and have a date night at home?

I styled this dress very simply because the dress really does all the talking. The ruching is so flattering, and the slit takes it from good to great. For my short girls, you’ll be pleased to know that the length is perfect – and I’m only 5ft2.
Scandinavia – Two-Piece Tweed Set
This next set is an adorable two-piece plaid outfit from Scandinavia. As soon as I saw it, I thought of Cher from Clueless. With Halloween right around the corner, I ran with that idea. I paired it with some knee-high socks, my favourite H&M loafers and a beret (of course)!
I would also style this as separates – I think the jacket would look so chic and edgy with a pair of leather pants. This set is perfect for a more fashion-forward office setting or a business event where you want to make a great impression. It’s chic, it’s professional, and it fits like a glove.
Balenciaga – Ville Top Handle Bag
And finally, the piece that you’re probably most excited for (because I know I was)—the Balenciaga Ville bag. This is my first-ever luxury bag, and I’m thrilled to have rented it out. I chose the black with the pink lettering to add a little pop of colour to my wardrobe. Usually, this isn’t something that I would go for, but I thought, a luxury bag isn’t something I would usually go for, and since I’m going all in, I might as well go all out.
What do you think of my picks? If you could own or rent one designer piece, what would it be? Let me know in the comments, and tell me if you’re going to give Beyond the Runway a try!
Thanks for reading!
